Hoy! Escapist!

This is what fish/water people do. They overload themselves to death and when the light at the end of the tunnel is near, they throw caution to the wind and splurge. Like...treat themselves to spa. I know I did two weekends ago. Sarap!
So after my INNODEV professor managed to make me revise nearly everything (again), I set aside the paper and dragged Nicco to watch 300. I was overly curious as to what the fuss was all about. Hoo boy, it was swimming with testosterone... although I did enjoy quotes like, "Only Spartan women give birth to real men." Hehe. And I totally enjoyed seeing the woman twist her knife into that politician's gut.

Nicco: That movie should've been titled 300 nipples.
Me: But nipples come in pairs...so that should be 600 nipples.
Nicco: Tell ya what...I'll go get the DVD and count 'em.


Still on the rebellious mode, I dragged Nicco to watch Dream Girls two days later. The look and feel of the movie is so... Diana Ross and the Supremes. Love the hair, the clothes, the music! My verdict? I know Jennifer Hudson did pretty well. It's all over the papers. In fact, she was so good I didn't realize that she was only a supporting actress. Still... I don't think Beyoncé's performance was bad. I think she did well, too. Then again, I've always been biased towards Beyoncé. Always wanted to have a daughter that would look like her. Though Mike and Nancy were aghast when I declared this desire because they didn't think it's possible to have one with Nicco, seeing that Nicco's as white as paper and Beyoncé is well...far from white. And I don't think I'm dark enough to pull it off.


And this morning, I did something I hadn't done in 6 months (thanks to INNODEV). GAME HEAVILY. Nearly forgot my lunch, too. Just like the good old days. Finally able to touch Final Fantasy XII.

It starts off with a wedding that ends in war...and a princess that loses her husband on the day that she marries him. The princess, pained by the loss of her kingdom and her love, takes her life. Of course, we know from the DVD cover that the princess actually lives and kicks major ass.

Me (texting my sis): Ang shoray ng wedding gown ng girl sa opening scene ha!
Alex: Di ba may pasok at thesis ka? Hoy escapist!
