I am still attempting to do the perfect Power Butch impression, but I do want to give it a feminine touch. I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but someday I will get it right.
Anyhoo, I had fun with the new Larry Alcala shirt I had received from Solo a few weeks back.
I think this can be used for a nice Power Butch outfit, it just needs accessorizing. I still couldn't figure out what shoes should go with this ensemble so I went barefoot.
I love the details on this shirt. I was surprised to find out that the embedded Larry Alcala cartoons were actually quite velvety.
Last week I felt like doing a Power Femme. My order from Ukay Manila arrived at my parents' house but it was only last Thursday that I was able to retrieve it. (My sister Alex got so excited at the sight of the package that she texted me to say that she wants to open it. Of course, I vehemently said, "No.")
Sorry for the really bad lighting. I couldn't find a better venue than the 11th floor gym area. The rest of the floors were so dark, you could hardly see a thing. A lot of the students said I look like I walked out of a role-playing video game and that I'm only missing a gun. Two guns?
Think Virginia Maxwell of Wild ARMs Advanced Third
Details: This is the Cream Poppy dress I got from Ukay Manila. I originally wanted to wear it as is, but then doubtfully asked my sister if it would look better with a belt. She thought my black belt didn't suit it so she said I could borrow her Butterfly belt, which she also got from Ukay Manila.
I love that this is so feminine!
These boots from Crossings at the Shangri-La Plaza added the "power" in Power Femme. I find them adorable, but I think these are partly responsible for the "missing-only-a-gun" look.
